Cupro Nickel 70/30 (UNS C71500) Tubes to ASTM B111
70/30 cupro-nickel (UNS C71500, DIN 2.0882, CuNi30Mn1Fe) contains about 70% copper and 30% nickel, with small additions of iron and manganese. It is the strongest and most corrosion-resistant of the common cupro-nickel grades.

Properties and Uses of Cupro Nickel 70/30 Tubes
70/30 cupro-nickel withstands higher seawater velocities and erosion than 90/10, and has good resistance to stress-corrosion cracking and to impingement attack.
Where not to use it: Avoid sulphide-polluted seawater. 70/30 costs more than 90/10, so for most seawater piping at normal velocities 90/10 cupro-nickel is sufficient.
Testing, Documentation and Packaging
Every lot of Cupro Nickel 70/30 tubes is inspected before dispatch. Typical tests include chemical analysis / PMI, tensile and hardness testing, flaring and flattening tests, hydrostatic or eddy-current testing, and dimensional inspection. Third-party inspection can be arranged on request.
Material is supplied with a mill test certificate to EN 10204 3.1, together with the raw-material report and inspection reports. For export orders it is wrapped in poly bags and packed in fumigated wooden cases, crates or pallets, with a fumigation certificate included.
