Titanium Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V, UNS R56400) Seamless Tubes and Tubing
Dinesh Tube India supplies and exports titanium Grade 5 seamless tubes from Mumbai for high-pressure, hydraulic, offshore and weight-critical uses. Grade 5, also called Ti-6Al-4V (UNS R56400, Werkstoff 3.7165), is supplied as seamless tube sized by outside diameter and wall thickness, to ASTM B861 or the buyer's specification, with EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificates. For NPS and schedule sizes, see our Grade 5 pipes page.
Grade 5 is the high-strength titanium alloy, about 2.6 times as strong as Grade 2, at about 56% of the weight of steel. It is chosen for strength and weight, not for heat exchangers or chemical corrosion, where Grade 2 or Grade 12 tubes are used. Grade 5 tube is mostly made to order.

Titanium Grade 5 Tube Weight Table (kg/m)
Weight (kg/m) = (OD − wall) × wall × 0.01392, using Grade 5 density 4.43 g/cm³. Other sizes on request.
Grade 5 vs Grade 9 vs Grade 2 Tube
For hydraulic and high-pressure tubing that must be bent and flared, Grade 9 is often the more practical choice. Grade 5 is chosen where the highest strength is needed.

Titanium Grade 5 Tube Mechanical Properties (Minimum)
Annealed condition. The governing values depend on the ordered specification; check the mill certificate.

Titanium Grade 5 Tube Applications
Titanium Grade 5 Tubes: FAQs
Do you supply titanium Grade 5 seamless tube?
Yes. Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V) tube is supplied seamless, sized by OD and wall thickness, to ASTM B861 or the buyer's specification. It is mostly made to order.
What is titanium Grade 5 tube used for?
Grade 5 tube is used where high strength and low weight matter: high-pressure and hydraulic lines, offshore hardware, structural tubes and high-performance frames. It is not normally used for heat exchangers.
What is the difference between Grade 5 and Grade 9 tube?
Grade 9 (Ti-3Al-2.5V) is weaker than Grade 5 (620 vs 895 MPa minimum tensile) but much easier to bend and flare, so it is widely used for hydraulic tubing. Grade 5 is used where the highest strength is needed.
Can Grade 5 tube be used in heat exchangers?
It can, but it is rarely the best choice. Thin-wall Grade 2 or Grade 12 tube to ASTM B338 gives better heat transfer and corrosion resistance at lower cost.
How much does titanium Grade 5 tube weigh?
Weight in kg/m = (OD − wall) × wall × 0.01392, with OD and wall in mm. For example, a 19.05 × 1.65 mm tube weighs about 0.40 kg/m.
What is the price of titanium Grade 5 tube?
The price depends on OD, wall, length, specification, quantity and certification. Send your requirement to kamlesh@dineshtube-india.com or call +91 83559 10913 for a current quote.
Which certificates come with Grade 5 tubes?
Every supply comes with an EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate showing heat number, chemical analysis and mechanical properties to the ordered specification. EN 10204 3.2 certificates and third-party inspection can be arranged on request.
