Titanium Grade 12 (UNS R53400) Welded and Seamless Heat Exchanger Tubes to ASTM B338
Dinesh Tube India supplies and exports titanium Grade 12 tubes from Mumbai for heat exchangers, condensers and evaporators in hot-brine and chloride service. Our Grade 12 (UNS R53400, Werkstoff 3.7105) tubes are made to ASTM B338 / ASME SB338, welded or seamless, sized by outside diameter and wall thickness, and supplied with EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificates.
Grade 12 (Ti-0.3Mo-0.8Ni) resists crevice corrosion under deposits and at tubesheet joints in hot chloride brines far better than Grade 2, and is about 40% stronger, at lower cost than palladium-bearing Grade 7. For all grades and condenser sizes, see our titanium tubes page.

Titanium Grade 12 Tube Weight Table (kg/m)
Weight (kg/m) = (OD − wall) × wall × 0.01417, using titanium density 4.51 g/cm³. Other OD and wall combinations on request.

Why Grade 12 for Heat Exchanger Tubes?
For ordinary seawater condensers, Grade 2 is usually enough. Like all titanium, Grade 12 is not suitable for hydrofluoric acid, fluorides or dry chlorine gas.

Titanium Grade 12 Tube Applications
Titanium Grade 12 Tubes: FAQs
Which standard covers titanium Grade 12 tubes?
Titanium Grade 12 tubes for condensers and heat exchangers are made to ASTM B338 (ASME SB338), which covers seamless and welded titanium tube sized by outside diameter and wall thickness.
What is the difference between titanium tube and titanium pipe?
Titanium tube to ASTM B338 is ordered by OD and wall thickness (often BWG) and is used in heat-exchanger bundles. Titanium pipe to ASTM B861 / B862 is ordered by NPS and schedule for process piping.
Are Grade 12 tubes welded or seamless?
Both are available. Welded tube is the most common choice for heat exchangers and condensers because of its uniform thin wall and lower cost; seamless tube is used for higher-pressure and small-bore duties.
Why choose Grade 12 tubes instead of Grade 2?
Grade 12 resists crevice corrosion under deposits and at tubesheet joints in hot chloride brines far better than Grade 2, and is about 40% stronger. For ordinary seawater condensers, Grade 2 is usually enough.
How much does a titanium Grade 12 tube weigh?
Weight in kg/m = (OD − wall) × wall × 0.01417, with OD and wall in mm. For example, a 19.05 × 0.89 mm (BWG 20) tube weighs about 0.23 kg/m.
What is the price of titanium Grade 12 tubes?
The price depends on OD, wall, length, welded or seamless, U-bending, quantity and certification. Send your requirement to kamlesh@dineshtube-india.com or call +91 83559 10913 for a current quote.
Which tests and certificates come with Grade 12 tubes?
Tubes are tested to ASTM B338, including eddy-current or ultrasonic testing, hydrostatic or pneumatic testing, and flattening and flare tests. Every supply comes with an EN 10204 3.1 certificate; 3.2 and third-party inspection on request.
